TMR Vertical Feed Mixer | Silage Mixing Wagon
TMR Vertical Feed Mixer | Silage Mixing Wagon
TMR mixer wagon | Livestock forage feed mixer
The TMR vertical feed mixer is used for the preparation of total mixed rations on large-scale dairy farms. The vertical auger mixing system thoroughly blends silage, hay, straw, concentrates, and mineral supplements in the correct proportions to ensure nutritionally balanced feeding.
The equipment is available in capacities ranging from 3 to 36 m³. The common 7 m³ model (9JGL-7) meets the daily requirements of medium-sized cattle farms, typically completing uniform mixing within 5 to 15 minutes.
With a production capacity of approximately 3,000–4,000 kg/h and a power system of 70 horsepower or more, it is suitable for livestock farms raising cattle, sheep, and other animals.
The vertical feed mixer features wear-resistant alloy blades and a reinforced steel plate structure, combined with a weighing system and a high-strength gearbox design. This effectively improves feed uniformity, reduces selective feeding and enhances feed utilisation, making it an essential piece of equipment for modern, standardised livestock farms.
Livestock feed mixer machine applications
This equipment is widely used on dairy farms, beef cattle farms, sheep farms and large-scale livestock breeding bases.
It can be used for the uniform mixing and blending of silage maize, alfalfa, hay, straw and concentrated feed. It helps establish a scientific TMR feeding system and improves overall farming efficiency.
Advantages of the vertical feed mixer
- Vertical spiral design for high cutting and mixing efficiency.
- Alloy wear-resistant blades, suitable for cutting long-fibre straw.
- Effectively prevents selective feeding by livestock and improves dietary balance.
- Simple design, low maintenance costs and excellent cost-effectiveness.
- Equipped with a weighing system for more precise batching.
- Reinforced steel plate construction for a longer service life.
- Supports multiple power options: diesel, electric motor or tractor.

Vertical TMR silage mixer working principle
Once raw materials enter the mixing chamber via the loading port, they are lifted vertically and cut by the vertical spiral blade shaft, whilst the bottom blades perform secondary grinding. This ensures that different raw materials are continuously turned and mixed within the chamber.
In conjunction with a weighing system that precisely controls the mixing ratio, the mixture is ultimately discharged evenly through the outlet, enabling the feeding of uniformly mixed complete rations.
How to choose the right TMR mixer?
When selecting a TMR mixer, the decision should be based on the scale of the operation, daily feed intake, and site conditions. It is also important to consider the power source (electric motor, tractor, or diesel) and whether a weighing system and automated functions are required.
Small-scale farms may opt for models with a capacity of 3–7 m³; medium-sized farms are recommended to choose 7–15 m³ models. Whilst large-scale operations are best suited to equipment with a capacity of 20 m³ or more (as shown in the figure below).
