Last month, our factory completed the production and shipment of a 55-52 Model silage bale maker machine, which will be shipped to Somalia to serve a local professional feed supplier.
Customer background and requirement analysis
Due to the long-term drought, hot climate and weak transportation infrastructure in the region, this customer has been facing the problem of difficult storage and transportation of silage.
The customer has identified two core needs:
- Extend the shelf life of feed: it must realize efficient wrapping and be able to cope with the feed reserve for more than 8 months of dry season.
- Adapt to the use of multi-location pasture: the equipment needs to have good mobility and adaptability, and be able to run stably on sandy ground and in areas with inconvenient transportation.

Usage and advantages of silage bale maker
The 55-52 silage baling and wrapping machine shipped this time is equipped with 2-6 layers adjustable wrapping technology, which can keep silage fresh in the open environment for up to 2 to 3 years.
It significantly reduces the risk of mold and mildew caused by high temperature and high humidity, and is an ideal solution to the problem of forage storage in arid areas.
To better adapt to the actual pasture environment in Somalia, the customer chose a model with several upgrades:
- Wider solid tires: adapts to sandy terrain, enhances passability, and reduces trapping and downtime.
- Reinforced frame: improves shock resistance and durability over long distances and in rough road conditions.
- Dual power system: built-in 5.5kW motor and 8hp diesel engine, which allows continuous operation even in remote areas.
